Brooding : 01/2002 : ink & watercolor on illustration board : 8.5" x 11" : Brooding is an illustration for "Whispers of the Ring," a LotR Alternate Universe fic. This is probably one of the few pieces I have felt really happy with when it was completed. It was a return to illustration board after a long time of not using it, and I discovered why I'd loved it so much back in school. I'd attempted at first to keep a limited palette, but it broadened as I was working; while still limited in some ways, (mainly alizarin crimson, viridian green and yellow ochre/cad yellow).
